The Generals Reunion... Empty
PostSubject: The Generals Reunion...   The Generals Reunion... EmptySat Apr 16, 2011 7:37 pm

Cyrus was awakened by loud knocking on his room’s door, by some apparently over-zealous soldier who blabbered about things the half-asleep general couldn’t understand. At first he planned to just shrug it off, but the instance of this particular man was tiresome to say the least. Finally taking his head from under the sheets, Cyrus noticed the sun was much higher in the sky than expected and a quick look to the clock told him nearly half the day was already gone. Finally he got up and put some clothes on, then opening the door to the insistent fellow who was still waiting on the other side. At first Cyrus was tempted to dismiss him right away or even sent to the dungeon for a day but that is when he noticed the royal guard emblem over the shoulder area of the man’s uniform. Alas the man explained the details of his presence; the king was summoning all his generals for a meeting to assess the kingdom’s resources. After taking note of the rendezvous point, Cyrus closed back the door and returned to put more fitting clothes on. He gave a side glare to his full body armour; he disliked wearing it at any time due to his weight despite the formal requirements. Alas, he just put on the blue uniform and his general insignia, thinking he’d point out he wasn’t asked to come in full armour if someone commented.

He made his way toward the Throne room where he was supposed to meet the king and the 2 other great generals. It was the first time he’d see all those people since his appointment and also the first less formal time ever. He wasn’t sure exactly how to behave or anything due to his lack of military formation but improvisation was always a good plan. Besides Cyrus wasn’t the type to fret over protocol details and whatnot; they’d take him as he came or they’d just let him off for the day, which wouldn’t be a bad thing actually. Finally the large doors meticulously decorated with coral and seashells came in sight and after a silent wave, the guards knocked on the door before opening it, announcing in a crisp, classic military tone:

“Great king, I present General Cyrus Oceanid here by your request.”

Cyrus also bowed down a little to show his respect to the sovereign, also noticing he was the first one to arrive. It was kind of strange given his late awakening, but then again the other generals were probably busy doing actual work so it could take them longer to get here…

Xarius walked with his hands clasped behind his back, watching the recruits as they fired down the range at their respective targets. The sun had been slowly climbing it’s ladder in the sky to reach it’s full height and proclaim the midway point in the day. The cool breeze from the shore not too far away tasted of salt and reminded the general of happy times spent upon their gentle surf. He smiled to himself as he recounted fond memories before realizing he should get back to his study of the soldier’s marksmanship. Each recruit seemed to tense as he walked by them before calmly re-adjusting themselves to take the shot. It was rather irritating that after the three years he had spent in the military it was only now that he had ascended to General that his fellow soldiers developed a sense of fear. It had never occurred to him that being afraid of one’s superior officer would help in any way. Respect? Sure that was a given idea to keep in mind but fear? It was beyond him why they would have that quality in mind when they were not faced with a real enemy at least. He stopped to remove the negativity from his mind before returning to his observation.

As he finished his rounds the sun shown it’s voluptuous face at the pinnacle of it’s high. Noon had arrived and along with it a messenger from the royal palace. It was not uncommon for him receive messages throughout the day but it was a rarity for them to be from the king himself. The winded currier excused himself to regain his composure before delivering that which he had arrived. “The King has requested your presence as well as those of the other two generals in his royal court immediately. Thank you General Madarame, and may the waves always be favorable.” The man bowed quickly before setting off again at a full sprint. Xarius couldn’t help but smile at this pleasant turn of events. He’d much rather meet the other two generals, of which he’d yet to do since his rise in rank, and was even more elated to chat with his Liege.

The young master always seemed to be full of life whenever he had seen him and that always seemed to get his heart burning to do his best for such a worthy King and it’s people. Without another moment’s hesitation he made way to his trusty means of transportation. There in the spot reserved for him sat the black and blue light cycle exuding speed even as it sat still. It seconds the low purr disrupted the once silent day as the beast came to life upon Xarius’ flick of the ignition. The soldiers that passed whistled in acceptance at the fine piece of machinery. The grinning general shot them a thumbs up before rocketing off towards the Shark Tooth Castle.

It took no time to reach his destination given that the barracks were only a short distance from it. Keeping the soldiers close in the unlikely event of anything unfavorable was quite the smart idea. That being said it was a bit sad that the trip couldn’t be enjoyed for much longer. After properly storing his transportation with the guards nearby it was only a short stroll through the royal grounds to the side entrance into the throne room. The guards standing watch there knocked before announcing his presence to all in attendance there, “Upon request Great King we now present to you General Xarius Madarame.” As he entered the lofty throne it was apparent that he was not the first to arrive. Not wanting to drag things out for too long and seem rude he took his position next to the man standing at full attention.

PostSubject: Re: The Generals Reunion...   The Generals Reunion... EmptySun Apr 17, 2011 5:48 pm

A light yawn escaped past the young ruler's lips as he awaited the three men he needed to speak with. It had been about two hours now since the notifications of the meeting were put out and he was becoming more and more restless with each passing second. Patience, he had to admit, was never one of his strong suits but now with this position as King of the Raging Sea, it was an attribute he would have to work on. He smiled as this thought came to mind, and the fact that this thought had led to others, thoughts of his father. Even though in reality his "Father" was of no blood relation to him, Ken still held him in regard as such and always would. When looking back at all of the idiotic decisions he had made in his life, Ken realized that his father had the patience of a saint in order to put up with it all. From his most minor mistakes all the way to his attempted coup d'etat, his father still had patience with him. Ken regretted these decisions immensely now, but also, he felt as if these decisions also cut him off from what he could have potentially learned from his father. Though Ken would never admit it to anyone outside of Megurine, the task of being a King was a daunting one. When every person within your nation is looking to you for leadership, there can never be a moments hesitation. Not having any hesitation and having a steadfast rule after one is simply thrusted into a position of power is quite the task, but Ken decided early on that he'd simply follow his father example. He'd try his best to emulate the man who taught him so much and do his best to make him proud.

After about thirty or so minutes later, Ken decided that it was time to stop reminiscing. One couldn't move forward if they were constantly looking back, and if they did, it was more than likely they'd stumble and fall. Ken quietly sighed and looked at his watch before he looked over to Megurine who sat in her throne next to him. He could never control his urge to smile when he looked at her, as if all the hatred and anger he once held in his heart began to dissipate with every second he spent with her. He reached over with his left hand and held her hand gently in his. He had never been happier in his life than when he was with her. He knew that being with her was making him a better man, and with her love and support, he'd be able to do all he could for their country. He raised her hand to his lips and softly kissed it, smiling at her and almost on cue one of his guards announced the arrival of Cyrus Oceanid. Cyrus was one of his newly appointed Generals. Though Ken was elated someone had finally arrived, he couldn't help but roll his eyes at the tardiness, but then began maybe he shouldn't have called the meeting at such short notice. Pushing this thought out of his mind, he sat up in his throne adjusting himself from his more comfortable seating arrangement to something more appropriate for a king while he held Megurine's hand in his, lacing his fingers with hers.

Ken watched as the General bowed half-heartedly before him. Formalities such as those never really mattered much to Ken, so luckily for him, Ken had nothing to say about it. Ken prepared himself to speak and welcome the General into his court there was yet another announcement, and this time it was his old friend, Xarius. Unlike Cyrus, he actually knew this person. He nodded towards Xarius, acknowledging him as he walked. "So just one more General now...".

The Generals Reunion... Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Generals Reunion...   The Generals Reunion... EmptySun Apr 17, 2011 6:46 pm

Much like the other generals Akihiro was busy with his own duties, more specifically training with his most skilled recruits. This training consisted of him standing in the centre of one of the battle grounds many arena’s blindfolded and surrounded by the pick of his squadron. At his feet was a small bowl filled to the brim with pristine water. Relative silence covered the arena; in fact the only sounds that could be easily heard were the sound of other battles taking place in the many other training areas. However with his currently sight devoid state Akihiro could hear much more; the steady controlled breathing of the four soldier’s, the sound of weapons slowly being drawn from their sheaths and then the eventual footfalls as the first soldier leapt towards him his sword poised for an over head strike. ‘Not good enough’ the general thought as he whirled on the spot thrusting his open palm upwards and towards the airborne fighter. In the same instance a rush of water burst forward from the bowl at the general’s feet colliding with the soldier’s chest and knocking him clear out of the air and tumbling across the arena until he eventually collided with a wall.

As he was dealing with the first of the attacker’s the second, third and fourth all leapt into action. The first of the remaining trio dashed towards him her katana dragging through the dirt and leaving a trail directly behind it. As she came upon the general she swiped horizontally with her katana, an attack that would have severed someone at the waist. The second, like his predecessor, dashed towards the general however he unlike the rest of his comrades held no traditional weapon, instead he wore a a single hardened leather glove on his right hand that had some deadly steel spikes at the knuckles. It was with this same hand that he threw a straight punch towards the sternum of Akihiro. The remaining soldier took to the air but this time opted to keep his distance from the general, unlike his unfortunate team mate, instead throwing two knives with deadly accuracy at the general’s head. The general would prove to be more than skilled enough to deal with the tri faceted attack though as he took a step forward and grabbed the extended arm of the soldier who aimed to punch him in the chest before yanking him sharply forward. In the very next movement he brought his knee up sharply which caused it to smash into the man’s chin, an action which readily knocked him to the ground dazed. Without missing a beat the general performed an acrobatic leap that took his whole body above the blade of the only female soldier present’s katana and inadvertently caused him to evade the two throwing knives. The female soldier was subsequently hit by both the blades in the upper body and had it not been for the protective armour she wore would most certainly have caused her serious harm, as it was she was merely knocked off her feet and her katana was thrown from her hand. Akihiro landed lightly on the ground in exactly the same spot he had started off in, free of harm despite his trainees best efforts. For a few moments the general stood still his breathing even and measured before eventually he removed his blindfold.

When he did so he witnessed the results of his training session, three of his trainees were being seen to by the medics that always stood by at his training sessions whilst the fourth was standing nearby awaiting for his leaders words of wisdom before dismissal. ‘You were smart, you kept out of my general area of attack and managed to escape harm unlike your brethren. However you failed to follow up your first attack with a second and subsequently would have ended up in the same condition as your other teammates had I not been in such a lenient mood. In short much work is needed... From you all’ this last part his said louder making it evident that he was referring to all of them and not just the only standing member of the team. As he finished delivering his assessment of the training session to his recruits a messenger came hurrying into the arena. Akihiro allowed the messenger a moment to catch his breath before delivering his message; apparently the king had called for the summoning of all three of the countries generals. Akihiro raised an eyebrow at this, the summoning of all the generals was a rare occurrence, in fact it hadn’t happened for quite a long time, and usually meant there was to be some major change in the country. As the message had called for his immediate attendance Akihiro dismissed the quartet of soldiers, who by now were all seen to and up on their feat, and then headed out of the training area himself.

It took very little time for the general to find himself at the gates of the Shark Tooth Castle, the residency of the king and queen of the land. Walking briskly meant it was only mere minutes before Akihiro was striding into the throne room, the guards announcing his arrival loudly. ‘Great King, I present General Akihiro Asukai here by your order’ As he strode in he became aware that he was the last of the generals to arrive and so not wanting to prolong proceedings even further than he clearly already had he took up place by his counterparts and waited.

Valnar had rushed all the way to the castle with his urgent news as he reached the gates he was glad that he had spent so much time training his stamina. The run was not a short one by no means the castle and the port were almost on opposite sides of the city a run that was no small feat for those not physically fit or those that wore heavy armor. He rushed into the castle only pausing momentarily to pass the check points of guards that dotted various points of the main hall. The guards gave him little trouble considering he out ranked most if not all of them and as far as he knew he was the only knight in the kingdom for the moment. As Valnar reached the kings throne room he was stopped by the two guards posted at the doors leading into the room. “We are sorry sir we cannot permit you to enter the king is meeting with his generals.” Valnar rolled his thinking of all the days that there had to be a meeting of the minds today had to be that day. He stood there with his arms crossed slightly perturbed that his rank would not let him enter the hall even with this matter of importance. “I will only say this once so make sure you listen. I have a matter of Importance to speak with the king with the kings envoy from the wind nation is approaching and I need to inform his royal highness.” Valnar hadn’t realized that his voice was raised and that the occupants of the room could more than likely hear his words. The two guards looked at each other almost in shock that someone had spoken to them in such a manner then nodded to one another. Opening the doors to the hall the guards loudly announce my arrival. “Great King, Sir Knight Valnar Darnus with an important message.” Valnar walked briskly taking note that the three generals had already gathered. He recognized almost all of them but could not remember their names which embarrassed him slightly but he kept his air of confidence as he closed the gap between the doors and the generals. Valnar stopped a few feet behind the generals dropping to on knee and bowing his head. “Your highness I deeply apologize for this intrusion but I have a message of importance to deliver.” Valnar’s voice was one of confidence even though he was unsure of himself for what he was doing he could have left the message with the guard to deliver to him but he felt it was too important for it to wait. He gave them a moment to which also helped him collect his thoughts but he waited for the king to give him permission to speak before he continued. “Sire a ship has been spotted approaching the harbor bearing the seal of the King of the wind nation.” Valnar stayed on his knee because he didn’t dare look at the king this was not the first time he had meet the king with only meeting him once before when he was knighted but that had been some time ago. He waited in silence for orders on how to proceed listening intently to any conversations being held.

The Generals Reunion... Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Generals Reunion...   The Generals Reunion... EmptyMon Apr 18, 2011 1:15 am

After his introduction, Cyrus stood a little awkwardly in the room’s entrance for a short while, hesitant as to what path to take. Having spent quite some years in the wilds or among the commoners he was no longer used to court protocol or etiquette, especially not in front of both of the nation’s sovereign. He soon silently walked to the right side, standing tall and rigid like he thought any soldier would do. On the other side of the room he could see a window opened on the vast sty of Atlantia, making him a tad sad to be here instead of out there, despite how lucky he was to be in here. Shortly after his thoughts were interrupted by the impromptu arrival of the second general; Xarius Madarame. All Cyrus knew about him was that he was also young and recently appointed, and the man’s general behaviour made him think he was also unfamiliar with this sort of deal.

Once again a little waiting period came and then the final general, Akihiro Asukai was announced to the king. The reunion seemed just about to begin when the doors opened again, and this time Cyrus couldn’t really hide his “Now what?” expression. These long proceedings were getting a tad annoying and he would have wished for the purpose of this reunion to be established already. Some knight soon barged in, a nervous expression and behaviour revealing either he felt bad for being here or had something bad to announce…maybe both.

“Your highness I deeply apologize for this intrusion but I have a message of importance to deliver.”

“Sire a ship has been spotted approaching the harbor bearing the seal of the King of the wind nation.”

At this point the bored Cyrus suddenly stopped daydreaming or complaining on the inside to pay real attention to the events. The news made his brain become active again; what did this sudden arrival from the Wind mean ? Surely the Gentle Gust nation had been a trading partner and fair ally of the Raging Seas for some time, but it was very rare for a king to move from his country to another. First off the general thought a crisis might be up, but then why would the king be foolish enough to leave his country in the middle of it. And if this was just another diplomatic mission, why not announce it beforehand ? The more he thought about it the more the situation seemed a tad odd to Cyrus who quickly forgot his discomfort in the current situation to speak up.

If I may speak…your majesty, I would advise caution regarding this sudden arrival. If the King of the Wind has pressing matters to bring to your attention maybe it would be best to call off our own meeting? Surely discussing technical details of our nation’s defence and military in front of foreigners isn’t the safest course of action...

Surely part of Cyrus’ intention was to get off the hook for this reunion, but he was also genuinely concerned. Diplomacy was more his forte than actual combat, and he was rather wary of international politicians, though not on the verge of xenophobia. He had no troubles with strangers in general, but close studying of the Water Nation’s history had proven that seclusion and a careful distance with the other nations’ quarrels had best served its interests. The general did not underestimate the value of the Wind’s alliance, but he kept in mind they were still outsiders with their own interests. “One who offers a bargain usually knows what is best for him” as they say.

Uneasy Megurine wriggled around on her throne, trying to find a comfortable way to sit. She wasn’t really used to sitting around and probably never will be. It was difficult to change your behavior. Especially after training to stand at attention for many years and from one day to another you were supposed to sit around like this. Finally she decided to rest her head on the backrest closing her from tiredness teary eyes. Somehow the morning grouch missed the reason of this gathering. Even though she didn’t have to stay around here since the King was in charge of everything, she wanted to stick around. It didn’t bother her much that people don’t address her often, she preferred it this way actually, but she wished she could help Ken with his burden. The only thing she could do was to be there for him and try her best learning the etiquette. Fortunately she wasn’t alone to learn this task; there was a very kind maiden that helped her with it. She was the only woman around the castle that played pranks on her, teased her playfully and just generally treated Megurine like a friend. Resting her head on her palm she didn’t want to think about some people around the castle that thought different of her.

Suddenly, after many wasted minutes passed she noticed that someone was looking at her. Turning her head to the side she faced Ken who was smiling at her. His smile is the most comforting thing in the world to her. She sighed relieved, smiling back at him holding his hand. Everyday she had to reassure that this isn’t just a dream that’s how lucky and happy she considered herself. As he softly kissed her hand, Megurine couldn’t help but blush. She didn’t want to question his love and kindness but sometimes it just felt simply too good to be true.

The first general arrived and a light grin spread across her face. Cyrus intelligence wasn’t unknown to her; she has heard remarkable things about him (while still being a guard) but also about his lack of motivation. Shortly after, the second general arrived, someone who her husband knew about. His hair was very spiky and it made her wonder what kind of products he uses for his hair… Quickly she shook that thought out of her head again noticing that she already began to wander from one topic to another. Silent they sat there waiting for the last general to arrive. Somehow she thought about the times she used to stand in front of the king like they did now. The mood around the castle was different than it is today. Perhaps it’s only the way she sees it, finding that the new king was more gloomy back then. Finally, the guards announced his arrival. Megurine smiled, she liked Akihiro, even though she had yet to meet him personally. But it was said that he was a very loyal and proud man, which were reasons enough to like a stranger. Her free hand moved up making an attempt to wave to the generals but she remembered that as a Queen she had to stay serious. Megurine crossed her legs while her attention turned to the end of the large room. First she wondered if there was another general, but they were complete. She noticed Cyrus’ expression and she wondered if they thought the same. A visit from the king of the wind nation sounds delightful but it wasn’t the best time to discuss important matters. The general Cyrus spoke up, basically agreeing to her thoughts. “Certainly.” She mumbled to herself nodding. It seemed to be a very good idea but the decision was Ken’s. Megurine knows; whatever his decision would be it’d be in the best interest of the folk. Hopefully though the generals wouldn’t be angered if it turns out they pretty much came here for nothing.

The Generals Reunion... Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Generals Reunion...   The Generals Reunion... EmptyMon Apr 18, 2011 4:47 pm

A few moments after Ken last spoke the last General, Akihiro, arrived. Ken knew this man before he was appointed to the rank of General, just as he knew Xarius. It seemed that it was finally get the meeting underway. There were many things that he needed to discuss with his General, but the most pressing matter was the state of affairs regarding the other nations. It was more than well known that The Raging Sea held pride in their neutrality in world affairs, valuing the peace that has been gained for centuries by simply keeping their distance. Though this has been a great tactic for many years, but also considering the rising tensions between the Burning Nation and Roaring Thunder, they may not have the luxury of peace for too much longer. Ken prepared himself to speak with his Generals about this predicament and how exactly they'd deal with it, but once again, on cue there was yet another announcement. Ken's brow rose as he watched Knight Darnus approach the throne before apologizing for his intrusion. It only took a moment before Ken realized he remembered this man, as he had personally given him the rank of Knight, but this had been some time ago. The knight began to speak, and the words he spoke were shocking, to say the least. Though surprised, Ken kept a face of indifference, only letting a sigh pass his lips. What reason could the King of the Gentle Gusts have to arrive unexpected and unannounced? Unless there was an emergency, an arrival such as this one was hard to excuse. Almost immediately he began to think back to the topic of this meeting in the first place. Could things have escalated far more between the Burning Nation and Roaring Thunder than he had anticipated? Scenarios flooded the young ruler's mind before his process of thought was broken by the voice of one of his Generals.

“If I may speak…your majesty, I would advise caution regarding this sudden arrival. If the King of the Wind has pressing matters to bring to your attention maybe it would be best to call off our own meeting? Surely discussing technical details of our nation’s defence and military in front of foreigners isn’t the safest course of action...”

He listened to Cyrus' words and nodded in agreeance. Though his suggestion was unwarranted, it also held wisdom, and as such he allowed it to slide. His gaze shifting over to Valnar, he nodded towards the man. "I greatly appreciate the urgency in which you've informed me of this..."surprise visit"..." He went quiet for a few seconds before he continued speaking. "Valnar, escort the Wind King back here to the palace. Be sure that he makes it here safely." With another nod, he dismissed Valnar and awaited the arrival of the Wind King.

Valnar stayed on his knee waiting for orders when Cyrus spoke up. “If I may speak…your majesty, I would advise caution regarding this sudden arrival. "I greatly appreciate the urgency in which you've informed me of this..."surprise visit"..." The king paused momentarily before he continued speaking. "Valnar, escort the Wind King back here to the palace. Be sure that he makes it here safely." I listened carefully as the king spoke to me he was one of the few that I had any sense at all to listen to at all. Valnar rose off of his knee remember into bow before he could leave. “It will be done your Majesty.” He rose from his bow turning on his heel. He wanted to get out of this room as quick as he could but he didn’t want it to look like he was nervous for any reason. As soon as he cleared the doors to the great room he turned down the hall letting out a sigh of relief as he continued on his way to greet the king of the wind nation.

The ride back to the palace was done mostly in silence which was nice for Valnar he just assumed that White Star was taking in the scenery of the city but he didn’t bother to turn around and look. Once they had arrived at the gates to the palace Valnar got out of the vehicle then opened the door for the king once the king was clear he shut the door behind him then signaled the driver to go park and await his return. Valnar allowed the king to walk in front of him as a sign of respect but he was unsure if he deserved it as of yet but he would keep his thoughts to himself. Walking through the palace Valnar guided him in the right direction only saying a few words along the way. After a few minutes they had arrived to the doors that lead into the throne room. “This is where I leave you your highness the kings is waiting for you.” Giving a slight bow Valnar turned walking back into the palace to get back to his rounds.

For the majority of the ride to the palace, it was in almost complete silence. Not the lsightst exchange of words occured since the vehicle had set motion, and for some odd reason, Star didn't mind. He was looking all around, seeing how The water Nation looked so differant. It wasn't a bad sight, nor an amazing one, to Star it was just significantly odd, and not similar to his own. Star did not dislike the area in any way, but was not prone to, or used to it in any form or way. As he strolls on, he tried to make sense of how it was put together, but could never put two and two together. Finally, his train of thought had been interrupted, as a door opens, and he has arrived. Star walks leading his small two man group, constantly letting his eye sway from the path to make sure he is leading the correct way. This was his first time in The Water Nation, and he didn't want to get lost. Within a few moments, Star reaches the door of the throne as the man bows ,then proceeds to leave. As he walks, Star cant help himself from speaking. Star then opens the door, entering the throne room.

After his somewhat late arrival in the meeting and having taken his place standing next to the other two generals Akihiro remained in total silence and awaited for the king to begin the meeting, however before this could happen there was an interuption in the form of the knight Valnar Darnus. Akihiro had heard of the man before, having heard some members of his squadron talking about what they'd heard about him, but had never had the chance to personally meet him. The knight quickly approached them an expression on his face that made Akihiro somewhat apprehensive of his news, before dropping to a knee with his head bowed in respect to the King and Queen. “Sire a ship has been spotted approaching the harbor bearing the seal of the King of the wind nation.”

At these words Akihiro's eyes narrowed and his hands clenched into tight fists. He absolutely detested the scum that was wind elementals, almost as much as he detested those that were the denizens of the burning nation. The very thought of one of those trash setting foot in this beatuful nation disgusted and angered him a great deal, but he curbed these feelings for the time being. His position as general and the current setting didnt allow him to give vent to his feelings as it would have been most disrespectful to both the King and Queen. As a result instead of focusing on his own prejudices he did his best to think of why the King of another nation would travel all the way here unnanounced, surely any business he had could be carried about by an envoy of some sort. As Akihiro was thinking another of the generals, Cyrus, spoke up to offer his thoughts on the matter to the king, effectively suggesting that they postpone their meeting instead of discussing the intricaices of their nation with a foreigner present. Akihiro agreed with the suggestion, although he would much rather the Wind nations king simply being told to leave, but he didnt voice his opinion and he wouldnt do so unless asked to experience having told him that offering your opinion without it being asked for usually ended up poorly.

Shortly after Cyrus' impromptu suggestion the king gave his decree ordering knight Varnus to meet and escort the wind nation ruler back to the meeting room. The knight rose from his kneeled position and made a beeline for the door, leaving the whole room in silence as they awaited the wind nation kings arrival. For a few minutes there was almost total silence in the hall, but sooner than the general had anticipated the grand doors opened and a man strode in before stopping in complete silence. To Akihiro the man didnt look very kingly, infact he looked like any other trash from his nation except he had one of his eyes covered by a headband that was pulled down over it and had very distinctive white spiked hair.

He watched the knight disappear after having dismissed him, his mind's thoughts going back to what exactly the King of the Gentle Gusts could want. The more he thought of this, the more he dreaded whatever it could be. In spite of that he held these troubling thoughts in completely, not letting a hint of his emotions slip to those around him. Soon enough the sound of the large throne room doors closing and signifying the exit of Valnar snapped Ken back into reality. He let out a quiet sigh and with it he released his unnecessary worry, holding Megurine's hand quelling this worry even more, though the tension that was left in the room after the departure of Valnar had not quite dissipated. The meeting had been called off and now they all waited in silence for the arrival of the Wind King, not a word being uttered.

For what was a twenty minute wait seemed almost like an eternity but soon enough, with an announcement from the guards, the Wind King seems to have finally arrived. Ken had met this man before, yet the mans enigmatic appearance never ceased to bewilder him. The King of the Wind walked forward, and with that, Ken expected the King to immediately go into what exactly the problem was. If this crisis warranted an unexpected arrival, surely he didn't need Ken's permission to begin speaking. After a few minutes of silence, it was more than obvious that the Wind King didn't hold this same sentiment as he simply stood there, staring. Not being one to turn down a challenge, Ken simply stared back at the man; wondering if humoring the man would get him to speak, but to no avail. Ken slowly closed his eyes and began to pinch the bridge of his nose, trying to quell his quick temper and calm himself down, yet while he did this he began to speak. "King of the Gentle Gusts...you've come quite a ways to just stand there...surely there must be something you want, or need to inform us of?".

Star simply stood in the room before him, where many men stood blankly. They all stared away at him, as if they wait for a response from him. But Star stands, trying to think of how to word the news he is about to give. Star himself knew that he shouldn't word this wrong, or it may end with wrong intentions from them. Regardless of how he worded it, there as still a chance of the result reply not being that of a good one. Finally, Star places his palm above his forehead shaking as he stands still. Suddenly, the king speaks up, and breaks Star of his trance he was in. Looking up, Star snaps his fingers and pulls something out of his pocket. It was a badge from the fire nation, the one Water so much hated. Looking directly at the king, Star wears a serious face. I found this in my country, off a spy whom we interrigated, he claimed that a single man comes to destroy you all, I simply came to warn, and also try to find an answer, as to why they would so blindly tell an ally of your nation this information, I think they wanted us to know. He delivered the bad news in the best way he possibly could, knowing it was not a good thing to be throwing around so easily. But after giving them the news, he tried to comfort them in the at least gurrantee he had no intentions of helping fire nation. Lifting his hand up, he raises his ninja head band from his eye. It was the band that showed he was king, and was now held in his hands as he shows the other eye of his. I'm not sure if you heard of how i got this red eye, but it involves someone coming to my nation and doing the same thing i was warned about myself.sure as hell not a gift, i rest assure that i have no intentions of letting them harm any nation, especially mine or an ally. I came here to say this, because it happened to me, and i would rather it not happen again, i also coem to see if our ally still remains, as i have not comfirmed this since my father passed. Looking around the room, he makes sure to let all of them around him get a glimpse, before re applying the head band.

Xarius couldn't help but feel a bit shocked that the Fire Nation would act in such a way despite their common disposition. If anything he had expected them to attempt storming the country with guns a blazing as they did back in the day. While that wouldn't be anything new this current turn of events was certainly out of character. Fire nation wasn't known for sending word if their acts in advance more especially to someone technically not involved in their affairs. Perhaps their was something going on within the fire nation that was causing them to once again attempt to branch out into new lands. Either way didn't matter much to him as he was confident in their abilities as a nation as well as his own strength. Organized or not they would crush any opposition without fail like they had time and time again.

It was clear though that the young King of Gentle Gusts was here not only forewarning of this devious plot but also to once again extend their hand in alliance from the last generation of old into the new. This idea was warming amid the cold blackhearted idea of ruthless avarice on Fire's part. He liked the idea of keeping on good standing with the Wind Nation and as such hoped his respective rulers felt the same. It was not his place to voice otherwise even with his current rank of general and as such he kept his stern and enigmatic outer appearance up save for nodding at his king in affirmation he'd trust his decision no matter what. The sun was slowly starting to make it's decent from it's apex in the sky and with it cool gusts of wind signaling night began rushing in with the tidal flow. Xarius hoped this would not last much longer as he was starting to feel the strains of disregarding his mid-day meal. Though as with all things only time would tell what would unfold.

The Generals Reunion... Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Generals Reunion...   The Generals Reunion... EmptySun Apr 24, 2011 5:52 pm

Ken watched the King before him begin to fidget, acting as if he were uncomfortable about what he was about to say. He had an air of uncertainty about him, something he'd need to work on if he was going to return the Gentle Gusts to their former glory. Soon enough the King took action, pulling out an emblem of the Fire Nation, his eyes directly on Ken. Ken was about to sigh, yet again. Theatrics were something Ken was never particularly a fan of, but luckily, the Wind King continued forward to the point of his unannounced appearance.

"I found this in my country, off a spy whom we interrogated , he claimed that a single man comes to destroy you all, I simply came to warn, and also try to find an answer as to why they would so blindly tell an ally of your nation this information, I think they wanted us to know."

Ken's brow raised as he listened to what the man spoke of. It didn't make much sense at all. He held an emblem of the Fire Nation, yet spoke of a "single man" of whom was attempting to destroy the Raging Sea. As far as Ken knew there was no "single man" strong enough within the Burning Nation to accomplish what he spoke of, the ruler of the Burning Nation was even female. Though he held doubts of the mans story, he allowed him to continue speaking. The young king then went on to explain his motives for informing the Raging Sea of this impending threat had to do with with his eye. He raised his headband and proceeded to show it around the room. Ken fought off the urge to vomit at the sight of it, though he held Megurine's hand a bit more. Thankfully, the king reapplied the headband soon enough and all was well.

Ken took a quick breathe before he decided to reply to the Wind King's last question of if their alliance was still a valid one, after that had happened in the Gentle Gusts. This question was an oddly placed one, especially in the fact that he had traveled here under the assumption that they were still allies, yet, waited until he was in the Raging Sea King's throne room to verify if this was the case. It didn't seem like the brightest maneuver, but the past was the past, after all. Ken began to wonder if this entire story he had been told of an impending attack had been a ruse. Though he had an emblem from the Burning Nation, anyone could acquire one of those off of the body of a dead warrior. There was no way to verify if what Star had spoke of had even occurred. Also, the talk of a "single man" attacking this entire country with the intent of destroying it by himself was sounding more and more unlikely each time Ken replayed it in his mind. After all, Star was a single person, from the proof Ken had to go on, he could have as much been the potential attacker than anyone else. He looked at Star for a while longer before nodding, "Yes..the alliance between the Raging Sea and the Gentle Gusts shall be upheld, as it has been...".

The Generals Reunion... Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Generals Reunion...   The Generals Reunion... EmptyMon Apr 25, 2011 8:26 am

The silence and the odd atmosphere around the room really began to annoy Megurine. Of course it were important matters but the arrival of a king to be so gloomy she really didn’t expected. But as he arrived in the throne room without speaking a word her annoyance grew and grew. She thought about either leaving the room or threatening the king if he wouldn’t open his mouth. Turning her head to the generals she began to grind her teeth before finally Ken spoke up giving the king the permission to speak. Didn’t the King of the Gentle Gusts know he could speak freely? Whatever, finally he talked about what brought him here; hopefully he’d hurry up so Megurine could do something…

After the Wind King spoke, the room was filled with even greater silence. As if they held their breath to the shocking and unbelievable news. She let out a deep sigh, shaking her head to get rid of the image of the heavily injured eye. Ken must have been grossed out too as he gripped her hand tightly. Turning her head to him she waited for a reply, like everyone else did. Would he believe what the Wind King said? After all he had done quite some questionable things. If it were this important why did he bother to travel across the country to tell us? Why not send a trusted messenger? They would have known about this way sooner and the Generals Meeting would suddenly have a better reasoning and importance. She eyed the generals before stopping to look at General Akihiro Asukai. The evidence the King brought with him wasn’t really satisfying, but the Queen decided to believe his words. After all this warning wasn’t to be underestimated… Ken seemed to be deep in thought, only mentioning their alliance. Megurine took a deep breath before she spoke with a hushed voice. “An assassin.” The woman almost hissed before she leaned forward from her chair to have a better look over her husband, the king and the generals. “What if it’s an assassin? Nobody knows the face or the name of a good and skillful assassin. And usually they have the techniques to kill fast enough without anyone noticing.” Somehow her own words scared herself a little. But it wasn’t a thought that seemed to be too crazy to her. “We wouldn’t know when he’d attack, and if he picks us one by one he would stand a good chance.” She gazed at Ken to get rid off this nasty, worried feeling that began to overwhelm her. It didn’t make much sense though that they would warn the Kingdom about a possible assault. Did they want them to be cautious? Megurine tried to sort her thoughts, in case she had forgotten something. Leaning back into her throne, still holding Ken’s hand she looked at the Wind King. His kingdom might be in danger as well; hopefully he was aware of it. She waited for any of them to make a suggestion about their next steps or if someone had something else in mind about this matter.

There was no real follow up to Cyrus' intervention, making him feel as if he had spoken a bit in vain. Shrugging it off, the general decided he'd let the matters up to the king if the latter wasn't particularly interested in seeking counsel. The events soon moved on, the knight leaving then returning with the Wind King after a little while, a time span during which Cyrus found it quite tedious to just stand around for no particular reason. He looked through the window on the other side of the hall and could see the ocean...as if it were calling out to him. Nothing would feel nicer than to relax on the fringes of the city, watching the waves crush again the solid walls under the warm sun. But jobs have their downsides, and Cyrus guessed this was a general's pain in the ass part; sitting and waiting for orders.

Finally, the awaited guest arrived, the knight quickly left the room and let the two monarchs in some sort of staring contest. With a sigh, Cyrus rolled his eyes at the ceiling, wondering how long these procedures would still last. Still, the announcement made by the King of the Gentle Gust after he finally spoke up was one that brought the general's attention back on the meeting. A forthcoming assassination attempt on the king or delusions of a madman thinking he could take out an entire nation ? It was hard to guess which one it was, but overall Cyrus remained wary of the Wind King's intention. This could very well be a whole machination, given the limited proofs at hand, but it was so obvious this time Cyrus didn't even bother speaking up. By the answer his own liege gave to the foreigner, it seemed he was also taking the news with a bit of suspicion, though not openly enough to offence his interlocutor. Always on the lookout for an escape, Cyrus chose the silence that followed to take the stand once more.

"Pardon me sire, but do you wish us to take immediate measures to verify the Burning Nation's troops status and increase security in the palace?"

Star was glad to hear the news, he had hoped that the alliance remained. Of course, he was fairly sure it did, but still was going to make sure. Although, if they weren't, they would not have so easily let him in. Either way, he could put this behind him now , although, a man strong enough to be able to pick off all of Water nations stronger beings would be a fairly difficult task though, even for strongest of men. I do believe assassin is a probability, but the biggest problem is the fact that if this is so, it is likely they are part of a higher status in the kingdom, someone who can easily make their way through your city without suspicion. If the person were to be known from another Nation, and was snooping around, it wouldn't look well, thus it is probably someone under our noses. Star then looks at one of the generals, who also made a comment on the matter. Star couldn't honestly disagree with the man's suggestion, but it wasn't his call to make.
